Christian Wilderness Experience

 I look to the Lord

I had a "chance" meeting with a fellow at my church Sunday. He has endured and triumphed in similar circumstances to mine. I notice the difference in Christians who have been engaged in the battle. I am feeling that the time to see God's work in my life is at this point now. I will trust that victory and employment are on their way.

 Still standing

I made the mistake of replying to some Democratic blogs. They swiftly turned to character assassination and hate, but all the while maintaining that is only the tactic of the right. Just because I am unemployed, I don't feel that that gives them the right to use that to discard my opinions. I don't blame Bush or the Democratic congress for my current situation. I was born in 1951 under Truman. I have survived IKE, JFK, LBJ, Tricky Dick, Gerry, Jimmy, Ronald Reagan, George 41, Slick Willy and his wife, George 43, and will possibly make it through these next chosen one or two. I am 56 going to be 57 and I am without a 401 K and deep in debt and unemployed. I moved from PA in the 70's to TX like hundreds of thousands of my fellow "rust belter's" who now live in other places. But I do not now or will ever look to Washington DC or any other elected politician to solve my problems. I will tell you this: that Hebrew's Chapter 11 is where I look for hope.

 Books

I'm reading Don't Waste Your Life by Piper. I got blasted by some fellow blogger because he didn't like they way I'm acting on this blog. Any other book suggestions? As I continue in the wilderness.

 I still have my soul

I want a job so badly. But I have turned down so many unscrupulous, underhanded and downright "dirty jobs." it's not funny. I don't know how some of these people sleep at night. Even our too many government regulations can't save us. It reminds me so much of the Psalms, where David laments the temporary triumph of wickedness and the misery of the righteous. Trust the Bible not the "prosperity" preachers.
Even though He slay me I will trust Him. I will not sell out for thirty pieces of silver. I'd rather die homeless in the gutter.

 Wanderings

I'm still concerned about my lack of answered prayers in my job search. I had to take my son to the doctor. He has a pretty serious blood infection. He seems be OK though he's in some pain. It is getting harder to avoid land mines in the desert
